Project Details
Status: Harris has completed The Diamond Valley Lake Dam Project which is the largest earth-work project in U.S. history ($2.0 billion). This assignment was particularly challenging given the distrust of the farming community of MWD. The firm effectively acted as liaison between the MWD and the farmers, allaying their fears and establishing meaningful dialogue between the parties that resulted in resolving highly controversial issues.
Harris continues to represent MWD on an ongoing basis and has, over the course of the last decade, assisted in connection with its acquisition of easements, right-of-ways, and the sale of parcel remnants, eminent domain and other land use matters. Additionally, it has assisted MWD in drafting and negotiating cooperative agreements with parties seeking to alter or otherwise affect its easements in the course of real property developments.
